The Twenty Minutes You Didn't Plan For
It was supposed to be a walk. It turned into an afternoon.
The door opens and you get as far as thinking “no, no, no.” They're past you, down the hall, on the sofa. Now you're following the prints with a mop, and the arm of the sofa is grey where it used to be cream.
And this isn't one bad day. It's every day from October to March.
So you've tried everything. The towel by the door. Wipes that run out on paw three and cost you £60 to £120 a year. The outside tap in February. And when it's really bad, the bath — twenty minutes, a soaked bathroom floor, and a dog who now hides when you reach for the lead.
None of it is hard. That's not the problem. The problem is that it's daily, and it's slowly costing you your floors, your carpets, your sofa and the back of your car.
What if the worst of it just stopped at the door?
